For making Hearts ‘n Bows quilt blocks using the Paper Piecing method.
This pattern introduces “Picture Piecing”, a new technique which uses freezer paper. Designed with the beginner in mind, it’s step-by-step instructions and illustrations make It easy to follow. Entirely machine sewn, this pattern has only straight seams, there are no “set-in” angles to worry with. Have fun as you explore a new technique!
This pattern was specifically designed to teach the picture piecing sewing technique. Every piece in this pattern is a different size and shape. Traditional template techniques will not apply in this case. The printed freezer paper will do a lot of the work for us. Do not let the small pieces intimidate you! Just take one step at a time and concentrate on one section at a time. You can do this!
About The Pattern
There are three full-sized patterns enclosed.
• One is a Master Pattern printed on regular paper. DO NOT CUT APART.
• The other two are time-saving iron-on freezer paper patterns, the back-side of which is shiny. They WILL BE CUT apart and used for templates. Use each freezer paper pattern twice (to get four blocks). After sewing the block, save the pattern pieces by placing in a labeled zip-lock baggie by section.
