The best site for rare, authentic horror movie memorabilia, including Universal, Hammer Horror, Amicus etc. original UK Quads, pressbooks, Front of House cards, autographs and more.
Original Vintage Pressbooks
All items offered are genuine release (usually 1st), old, cinema movie items and so had a 'life' before sale, so unlikely ever to be mint.
This item: A PRIME COLLECTABLE. An original painting in acrylics for a brochure for Hammer's final Dracula vampire movie; the painting is a superbly rendered image of a vampire with outlandishly long fangs, dripping blood and wearing a mask encircled with skull motifs. The vampires in the movie (Dracula apart) wear masks as reflected in this piece. Of especial note is this is an original piece of Chantrell artwork and signed by him to the top right of the image. Tom Chantrell (1916 - 2001) was, of course, a pre-eminent artist for British Quad posters and as such is highly collectable. The item is on board with a glassine cover for protection (see last photo). Such pieces are rare / unique. This image is illustrated in Wayne Kinsey's excellent book on this movie. A great item for the collector and would look stunning framed. Unique one off
Size: 10.75 x 13.75 inches approx. (to white outer border)
Condition: (Range from Fine – Very Good – Good – Poor with ++ to - - for further differentiation) : Fine - / Very Good ++ -: very good corners and edges with light wear; small closed rip to glassine cover; overall a very good copy of a rare collectable. Light reflections on the left of some images are from a window and NOT on the original which is of consistent colour density.
