Additional descriptive notes (if applicable): the full text on the back of the postcard reads: The St Edward's Crown is the principal piece of the coronation regelia and was used to crown Queen Elizabeth II. The original is made of gold and decorated with precious and semi-precious stones. Lincoln Cathedral's representation of the crown was carved as a tribute to Her Majesty to commemorate her Diamond Jubilee. It is made of Lincoln limestone, and painted and gilded in the medieval style. This work of art was carved by Paul Ellis, Head Stone Carver. He is one of a team of 30 craftspeople who are permanently employed on the conservation and restoration of Lincoln Cathedral. The crown sits at the base of one of the gables of the South West Turret, approximately one hundred feet up. The work is part of the five year Turret Restoration Campaign of the North and South Turrets.
General notes: in addition to postage my shipping charges include a handling and packing charge. My basic charges for this item are shown on the sales page.
