Where it all goes depends on the wind, all I know is my car had a fine layer of dust on it, more so than usual.

Ahhhhh....that explains it. The entire inside of my house has a layer of dust. I assume this volcano has been spewing forth for years now, as the dust has been here that long........Can't see any new today, but maybe by next year the layer will have built up enough to see a new strata.......(grins)

If the eruption continues for up to the year (or two?) that some experts are predicting and if the wind continues to bring the ash in our direction, then flights could be canceled on and off for quite some time. However, that isn't the extent of the problem.
- Remember that we get a lot of our food (and other products) brought in by air, so prices are likely to rise whilst availability drops.
- International parcel and letter deliveries could well be effected.
- Supplies of medicines which are made elsewhere in the world may well be effected.
- People with any sort of respiratory illnesses - including asthma - may well be effected as air quality worsens. (Perhaps a trip to the doctors to top up on prescription medication may be an idea about now?)
- Those who have shares in any on the travel companies may see them drop in value if flights continue to be restricted.
Or it may all blow over in a few days. (Pun intended.) But either way this is worth keeping an eye on.
