    Smile Fees for upgrades

I just signed up today. Are the fees for upgrades recurring or a one-time fee? If so...how often? I can't seem to figure this out. Thanks.

Seller+ Lifetime membership, with all the bells and whistles is a one time fee, no more to pay unless you opt for xtras ie bold, hilight, (incurs auto fees) and gallery auction listings (incurs 2% FVF) etc.

Any other options, to sell ie 7 days, 1 month, 1 year, are automatic recurring fees every cycle.

    With the $50 lifetime deal,

is it extra to run an auction for 30 days rather than 7 days?

Does it cost the same to run for 30days as 365 days?

Once you pay for lifetime membership - that's it - you can list the length of time you want to run the auction. However it will be highly unlikely that anyone will wait for as long as 365 days on an auction! The usual time is about 10 days and if you repost for 10 times (automatically) that gives you 100 days before you need to look at the auction item again - unless of course it sells.

The different auction lengths are options that do not cost more with the life time deal. Also any fees spent are credited as payment towards the upgrade in membership. Many sellers use the 7 to 10 day time frame with 10 auto repost (no cost). Would not recommend using "Run Until Sold" as auctions do not get good visibility using that feature.

Yet another who is confused by this ridiculous system.

Come on, eBid! Stop the upgrades - one fee is all that is required.

Seems sort of OK to me. I actually missed out on the Upgrade Discount, but that was my fault.

I actually like the fact that one has to engage the brain when using the eBid site.

There are lots of things that may or may not improve the buyer/seller experience, but the only one I am passionate about is.

When will Moneybookers (Skrill) Payment Integration Happen ?

Well, MPS, I DO actually have a brain which DOES engage (at times) as I suspect is the case with most potential newbies. But you only have to scan through the number who are confused by this ridiculous system to see that it needs changing.

The thing is that ebid is competing with a few other top alt sites.
They have very low joining fees.
Many people do not feel willing to part with a large up front one off payment (even though the Seller+lifetime is a good deal imho).

So they like the idea of being able to test the waters for a month or so.
But of course if they don't get instant sales many new members leave anyway.
