For my friends across the pond...is there a real Kingsbridge Cathedral? Reason I'm asking I just finished the 9-hour mini-series Pillars of the Earth, and am curious...thanks!

Not across the pond, but found this on Ken Follett's site:

Best wishes for many sales to all,
Thanks, Sue...on my way over!!
No, Kingsbridge is quite a small place with no cathedral - though we do have cathedrals in astonishingly small towns... example

Here is a link to another in Wales, St David's Cathedral, which is my personal favourite: http://www.castlewales.com/stdavid.html
Loads of great pics if you google St David's Cathedral.
My own entry for the prize of "Ludicrously Small Town with a Cathedral" is Millport on the Isle of Cumbrae and its Cathedral of the Isles.
Described as "the smallest cathedral in Europe", "the second smallest in Europe", "probably the smallest in Europe" depending on who you ask, it has seating for 70 in a town which has barely 1200 residents.
Guessing There are 40 Cathedrals In The U.K.
Cheers Tony
