Today I thought that I would write a guide in my eBay profile to help other sellers that are planning to ship internationally on eBay. I know some of you are saying, "good Lord, are you still with them"? Yes, I still use them, but not as much as the other sites I deal in. They are a avenue I use to create more traffic to my other sites.
Anyway, the thing that surprised me was when I posted the links to a few of the pages and PDF's that the USPS offers information on shipping requirements world wide, eBay wouldn't except them. They stated that eBay only allows links to eBay pages. Now there is a sign of paranoia! I understand that businesses are reluctant to allow links to outside business that may take business away from them, but this is a little too extreme. It also shows that they do not possess the capabilities or have the mental capacity to know the difference between helpful informational sites or pages. They can't discern what links lead to other commerce sites that are not affiliated with eBay.
eBay is going to realize one day that there are others sites, such as eBid, that offers people a place to sell and communicate openly. They will have to either change their thinking or they could possibly follow the way of the Doe Doe Bird. They are so paranoid of losing business that they are trying to control it to much, which is the same as trying to hold a fist full of sand. We all know that you can't hold all the sand on the beach.
Here are the links below that I guess eBay's afraid of,
