Sarah's Just Giving Page is HERE
For those who remember, Sarah is my son's girlfriend.
The eBidders very kindly got together to raise funds for Sands recently so I thought you might want to know what Sarah has planned for October.
I am supplying snacks and tea for when she gets home.
If you can't donate right now it would be great if some of you could share this link as every little helps
Sarahs Story
"22nd March 2009 was the best and worst day of my life. It was the day my Daughter was born, and the day she died. Jamie was my first baby and after 5 yrs of trying to get pregnant I was very excited and looking forward to raising my little girl, unfortunatly my waters broke too early and Jamie was born at just 21 wks +5 days gestation, and although she was alive when she was born, the hosptial couldn't help her as she was just too early.
Although the hospital was very good with providing photos and mementoes of our baby, we didn't recieve a SANDS memory box , which they are now supplying to bereaved families, allowing them to keep some piece of their babys memory alive.
In the days, weeks and months after the death of my beautiful baby girl, the support offered by SANDS was invaluable. The advice on their site helped me cope, and the user forums provided support from people who unfortunatley had been through similar experiences. I am still in contact with some of these friends today and I don't know how I would have coped without them on my worst days.
SANDS is researching the causes of stillbirths and neonatal deaths, and trying to find some way of lowering the statistic, that 17 babies a day are stillborn or die shortly after bith in the UK, and anything that helps prevent other parents going through this tradgedy will always have my support and hopefully yours.
I am probably the most unfit, smoking, overweight person most of you know, so hopefully you will realise how hard this is going to be for me! And i hope I can count on your support!"
