Any one remember "imps" as sweets?
yes i do
I remember:
only 2 weeks holiday a year,
Lino on the floor,
no central heating
waiting hours for a bus
lots of people with lots of bad teeth
buying roast potatoes in the street
the rag-and-bone man
outside lavatories
Kia-ora
the tally man
nibbits
full employment.
Mackintosh's Weekend; a selection of chocolates and candies; used to be my favourites. I think they were taken over by Rowntree and killed off.
Also, anyone remember Lucky Numbers chocolates? I don't recall who made them.
bicycles in big supply(bygone days)
Bicycles now not as many
Hardly any bikes around here except the motorized kind, lots and lots of those.
Those chocolates look yummy! I remember the Whitman's Sampler being bigger than it is today, though I was little so it might just be my perception.
I remember TV shows that lasted a whole half hour or an hour with very few ads, that had messages to impart along with the humor. Today's TV is ten minutes of show and twenty minutes of ads and nothing of importance to say (and not even all that funny). Makes me wonder if TV will be around in the future...
Best wishes for many sales to all,
Television when only BBC in Black and White( Bygone Days.)In The U.K.
Now numerous Channels plus Sky Television?
cheers Tony
Socks we used to Darn(Bygone Age)
