Can't help with a valuation. The coin is of the emperor (Augustus) Hadrian(us) and is commemorating his third consulship (COS III) on the reverse. If I remember correctly that would date it to about 122AD.

IMO, it would be best to get it authenticated, graded and slabbed by a recognized grading firm before offering for sale.
I only found 1 similar here
Many fakes out there of just about any coin of any value, and you'll get a better price if authenticated.

You are right r2d. But I would take it a step further before considering the purchase of a coin like this. Would prefer to deal with established, reputable auction houses like Sotheby’s. Even graded coins can be fake or tampered with.
I'm not that far from an established coin, sports memorabilia, and collectibles store that I have gone to to authenticate coins, bullion, signatures on sports memorabilia, etc.
They have a machine that can instantly identify the metal contents of coins, etc, without damaging the surface of the collectible. It cost a house payment, but it's worth it to be able to maintain the high grade of a coin.
Must admit, when I saw the first post my immediate thought was "Hmmm, that sounds like a nice little earner... plaster of paris cast, crucible, pour, bit of finishing". And my wife has a jewelry workshop, so this could be more than just hypothetical!

The most memorable fake I've ever seen was a "Tiffany silver bracelet". It came in a box labeled as Tiffany. It had their name on the bracelet, and 925 on the bracelet.
I took it to a Tiffany store to be eval'd/ authenticated, and they actually laughed. They normally charge to authenticate, but they did a fast analysis for free right at the counter. Even the box was fake.
They were laughing their heads off. They stated they saw so many fakes being passed off on the Bay. I asked them if they ever considered lawsuits, and they said "not yet". I couldn't believe that a large company like Tiffany would respond to the use of their name like that.
BTW, I didn't purchase it on the Bay.
