I suppose it was whatever military units were in the area. Being Lincolnshire we had (not so much now) an abundance of RAF units. I was at RAF Coningsby both times.
The main problem we had was that we had no maps of where hydrants were and the fire brigade refused to allow us access to theirs. So the first thing on arrival, which wasted valuable time, was to find the nearest hydrant. That wasn't helped by many of the hydrant markers not being there due to vandalism or whatever. Often ended up going door to door asking if anybody knew where they were. The Americans probably have it right with their conspicuous hydrants.

Funny times. Our doctors and nurses cannot get tested to see if they have covid-19 but Prince Charles can!!!!
They have been out on their mobility scooters here today. Sometimes it looks like Wacky Races around here as there are so many of them. One stopped to pet someone's dog that was being walked; which I didn't think was a good idea, for either party, in the current situation.
I spent the morning giving the lawns their first cut of the year (no tigers found) and trimming a bush on the edge of my property as it was starting to block the pavement.

I have only seen 1 person walk down our road today and he walked down the centre of the road, for once in a long time i can actually get my car off the drive. And there is no-where to go
I had that problem yesterday. I took my car in for its MOT (just before the 6 month extension was announced ). Normally I would potter about the shops or go to the nearby Sainsburys cafe to while away the time while it was being done. All that was out so I sat outside the testing place the whole time. I couldn't wait inside due to the protection measures that were in place for the staff. Lucky it was such a nice day.
