Howdy cocktailers!
Long time since anyone posted - I do miss hearing from all your guys.
I have been very busy on t'other site, plus I have been very poorly with covid (again).
It's absolutely bucketing it down here, all the gardens are waterlogged. I have never seen such a miserable show of garden flowers, bedraggled roses - all the taller flowers are leggy searching for the sun and bent over with the strong winds we get here. East Anglia is flat, we have no hills or mountains to shelter from the winds.
Oh ... where is summer?
Hi Trish so to read you have not been well but happy to hear you have been busy on t'other side, I have been listing a few things but I will now be busy with packing the next few months, I have finally found somewhere to move to, I have been very lucky with my buyers who have been very patient, they are 1st timers so I think that helped, although I will have to do some work when I move in as the kitchen is a lot smaller than I am used to so will have to do some tweaking when I move in and live out of boxes until I can get the work done so it looks like a few years of struggle and strife.
Here's a few tunes for you a varied selection

Hi there yeller,
Thanks for listing your music selections.
My two favourites were Willie Nelson (love him!) and Bob Marley (love him too!)
Well, I'm now into my 2nd week of antibiotics -
I thought that I could handle the coughing, headaches, tiredness and gasping for breath, but I got a strict telling off from the nurses when I went for my venesection last week. They made me promise to go to the doctors as they could hear my chest rattling away - how did I get Polycythemia AND Bronchiectasis? I was as fit as a flea a few years ago !
Sales have been really hectic for me on t'other side. I have had to force myself to keep up, starting early morning till late at night (much to my family's annoyance) !
Anyways, enough of that - I'm delighted to hear that you have at last found somewhere nice to move onto. Oh, I sure don't envy you with all the packing and living out of boxes. I'm sure once that you are settled in you will breathe a great sigh of relief !
I'm a football widow at the moment - my hubby is glued to his armchair watching all the Euro 24 games.
There is sooo much to do in the garden, although we do both have a go at it when we have time. I don't know where all the weeds are coming from. I know the rosebay willow herb weeds have blown in from the verge next to the road at the bottom of the lane - we saw all the little cotton wool seeds floating about like snowflakes !
Slugs and snails have decimated many plants and birds (especially blackbirds) have uprooted seedlings in pots. What with cats scratching up newly planted flowers and leaving the contents of their bowels exposed to flies, I'm beginning to think that we should pave over some of the gardens.
We are set for a lovely weekend, so I do hope that we will be able to enjoy some sunshine at long last. No rain forecast so we will have to get the hosepipe out - although we are on a water meter. Everything is bone dry and grass is yellowing already. The soil is rock hard, pulling up weeds is useless, they just snap at the base, they have to be dug up individually. Sooo tedious !
Well, as I was making my melts I heard this on the radio - oh, boy - did it get me going! My hips were a-swaying and feet were dancing away ! I dare you listen to this without joining in dancing!

Now, put your feet up and get yourself a nice hot drink - relax and go to a lovely summer place

Hi Trish sorry to hear you are still not feeling well, I think it is my supplements I take that keep me going and a trip to the college for acupuncture once a month at the moment. When I move things will be easier no more travelling miles to shops, I will have a huge corner shop within walking distance for me, 'every little helps' save me on petrol, time etc, more time for my hobbies.
I have also been busy in my garden, taking cutting, repotting, splitting my lily of the valley, one thing I will not miss when I move will be having to clean up the leaves and helicopter blades (and new shoots) from the sycamore tree that overhangs my garden, could not stand another winter of it, went out earlier this morning though and had a little trip so taking it easy for an hour or two, garden is on a slope so I had it paved and raised beds built when I moved in and most of my plants are in pots so they will be coming with me, as for watering I am not on a meter, unfortunately, being on an ex MOD site we are tied to an MOD contract which was not disclosed and searches did not reveal, management company would bill when I and others purchased our properties, 15 months in the property and the goal posts were moved bill doubled so I pay for more than I use.
Pleased the weather is getting better went on my first day trip of the year with my sister yesterday and now wondering if I could manage a car boot this week to raise some funds, costlier area I am moving to, have been cutting back so much my clothes are so old they could find their way around without me, good job I go for classic lines.
Loved the tunes, had to laugh about the hips swaying, I was busy in the kitchen on Sunday evening and had my little tv on, BBC Northern Soul at the Proms and I am sure I heard my late mother shouting down "act your age".
Have a lovely weekend and a little something to keep you moving, just shows its not time to hang up our dancing shoes but it takes a little longer to get over it.
