I jumped ship with ebay today on one of my shops and am closing the other over the weekend once i get my listings duplicated over to here. I have also sent out emails to my shops subscribers and people who have paid using paypal to tell them that i will be offering the same goods and service from ebid in future. The only downfall for me is starting from a rating of zero again and this could also be reflected in sold items and buyer confidence in the site, If there are indeed as many ebay sellers coming across who say they are then there are going to be a lot of zero rated high volume sellers and lets be honest would you send even say £50 to a 0 seller, simply the answer is no most probably jump back over to ebay and buy from a rated seller. Not that i`m putting ebid down i`m here for the long term now but its going to take a while to build up the same buyer/seller base that ebay has with all these new 0 rated sellers.

One piece of advice floating around that seems to work pretty good is that if you are new, buy a few small cheap things to build your feedback up

and hi from yet another deserter. Just finding my way around the site and starting the mass emailing of all my old customers. After just making it to power seller status and feeling quite good that business was now showing a profit albeit a tiny one, ebay have effectively kicked me and so many others in the teeth with what they have done with fees and shops. I dont' like upping my prices to cover extortionate fees but even if I could it would just mean even more fees for them!

Only criticism of ebid on first impressions are its soooo cluttered! not to mention slow on loading stuff up and the first page I managed to load was just filled with fake Louis Vuitton and Chloe.....seems all auction sites are the same. Oh well time to sort out my auctions. Fingers crossed this works be so nice to see ebay knocked of their pedestal

There is a way around that for all ex-eBay sellers.

Give your eBay email address on your listings so that buyers can go to eBay and use Advanced Search / Find a Member

I.E. enter renegade1127*@*yahoo.com (remove the asterisks) to find my eBay feedback. Don't give your eBay seller ID as anybody can pick any ID at random from auction listings and claim it is theirs.

    Welcome to eBid ...... enjoy

    Cool

Hi y'all newbies, defected myself earlier this year as I got totally fed up with eBay fees AND the ever failing tax credits to stop me from being self employed, but doing ok for now.

    Hope to see y'all soon

another newie here , Just registered but might not get round to listing anything until next week as I finish work then for the long summer holidays but I will be back
I have my own website ( not work related but a support forum for parents of teenagers ) will post a link for ebid on there and also on a few other boards I visit , I am sure with all the new sellers coming on here the buyers will follow.

    hiya

sorry hon but that wont work!! The only way you can obtain feedback through a sellers email address is if you have had a transaction with them.

I think the best way is to show your eBay ID. Then if your buyers want to check that you are geniune, all they need to do is contact seller through eBay. All they need to do is ask a simple question.

    Cheers Mel
