well, seeing as I started the thread and asked for the options..I should at least say YES PLEASE and thank you..
would it be usefull for somone to put a poll on may make it easier for managment to see what we want
new used unused
new used - (blank)
new used see discription
new used see discription - (blank)
Just a few ideas been posted thought it may be a good idea for member who started thread or someone else to do poll

I think we're more likely to get this request implemented if we keep it simple. Unused.
As a buyer, I don't know how I would respond to "See Description". I like to scan pages, and if I'm looking for an Uncirculated coin, I'd probably not open any items other than "New" or "Unused".
Coin collectors know that "Unused" means "Uncirculated". Stamp collectors know that "Unused" means "Mint". Collectors of vintage items know that "Unused" means old, but in new condition. I really don't think that's a problem. The seller can put UNC, MINT, NIB, etc., in the title to make it clear.

I don't agree - new means new and is meaningless if you refer to an 1840 Penny black!
I do agree that I would like the simple new/used/unused for other categories implemented first but I thought it useful for management to see what would be asked for next (not just by me).
Using characters in the title for the condition should be unnecessary - I often run out of space!

We all agree that "New" is not the proper description for an old item in new condition, such as Mint stamps, Uncirculated coins, old but unused collectibles.
That's what "Unused" would cover, across the board. That's what the original post asked for. I believe a couple of people mentioned that they had their listings pulled because they used "New" for an old, unused item.
I have noticed that it takes a long time to get a change like this implemented, the support staff has to prioritize and things like this are not at the top of their list. If we keep our request simple, I think it's more likely to happen.

An obvious YES here too for;
NEW
UNUSED
USED
Quite how coins/stamps work I could not comment but maybe its worth seeing how other auctions give options, other than the usual e**y ! There are other stamp sites more specialised so they may be a guide to that.
As for a poll, it must be easy to set up but Im not on forum enough to see to that myself. Could not support do that & make a mention in the news pages that everyone reads as its a high enough topic for us all.
Personally Im yet trying to find enough time to get on enough listings to make this work here yet!
