Corinnedanz, I've only been here for a couple of months and I agree that eBid is a lot slower than Greedbay, but it's also GROWING. Many buyers still look for bargains on Greedbay, but more and more sellers who have those bargains are leaving the other side. We may not be doing as well here for the time being as we'd like to, but I reckon that lots more sellers are going to come here after Xmas and many of them will bring regular buyers with them.
So don't give up just yet

OK corrinedanz, firstly listing your items as 10 days to first bid is not a good idea as it will always be at the end of any lists. Use say a 10 day listing with 10 auto renewals, that way it will appear at the top of the list every so often. Having only one item ( which is also a bit specialised, who buys food on the web by auction?) is also a bit limiting, since you've paid for a lifetime membership make use of it.

Also to help add a signature link to your posts so us nosey lot have an easy link to your items whilst reading the forums, read this thread http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=100959 then fill in some info on Your About Me Page so people know about you as a seller. Perhaps buy a few things to kickstart your feedback over here, always looks better than a zero, ( I have some nice cheap prints ) have a look at my listings to see how I dealt with the zero feedback problem when I started.

Then email all YOUR (not Greedbay's they are a venue, they keep telling us) customers, and tell them where you are, give them a link to your listings. Grab the records while you can and from paypal records as well. That should keep you busy for a bit, and shout if you need a hand. Additional body parts incur a small fee Oh and finally read the forums there is a lot of useful information on here.

I was wondering how many members there are here, besides myself, and how many people visit the site daily? So far I haven't had any luck with anything I've tried to sell on here. I paid $99 or $49 (I can't remember which) to join, plus spent money to list my items, and am wondering if I made a mistake. I don't like selling on Ebay because their fees are a complete rip off. They charge $4 to list an item that's only worth $28. If I up the cost of my $28 item to over $30, to make up the fees, then I don't think people will want to buy it. I thought I'd give your site a try again but so far I haven't had any bites. This time I chose not starting the auction until the first bid (so I'm protecting my investment somewhat). The last time I listed items on here I chose to have the site automatically restart the auction. Nothing sold although everything listed was very nice and brand new. I did wind up having to pay for four different auctions (the amount of times I chose to restart) on all of my items. I learned the hard way on those auctions. I'm wondering if there is any hope for doing it the way I'm choosing to this time or if I should just give up on this all together? In hind sight if I had chosen to pay the hefty fees on Ebay but then sold all of my items I'd actually be ahead right now. I really don't like Ebay, other than to buy things, and would rather do business here. I also check out this site first, for what I'm wanting to buy, before resorting to purchasing it off of Ebay.

Ken's advice is always good! Also, if you tell us a bit about yourself and get something on sale - nothing there today. I think you have paid for lifetime seller+ membership, so you need to pay no more. Just list and wait till you sell. If you wish, and many do so, you can have a photo for 2% of sale price, paid ONLY WHEN YOU SELL.
