I must admit, I thought the same thing when I first saw them. The idea of looking like an idiot waving my arms about or hopping from side to side to get something to work, really didn't appeal to me. One of the things that went through my mind was "Why get a game where I have to go through the actions of kicking a ball, or swinging a bat, when I could just as easily go outside with a real bat or ball?"
It was only when I actually got the chance to play on one that I appreciated how much fun it is, and that those types of games really are enjoyable.
Last night I played Snooker with the WSC 08 game and snooker cue. I was very impressed with the fact that I could lose just as impressively on the Wii, as I can in real life. It really did play like the real thing, and my disitnct lack of skill at Snooker was not compromised in any way. I whole-heartedly recommend this game - I will report back if my game improves, which I think with practice it will. After all it will not involve having to go to the pub and drinking heavily to get a game in.
