Sorry, I couldn't resist.
So funny
The first time I saw the word "earnt" here (in the help pages), I thought it was a typo. Proving, of course, that I would be the uneducated one (since it is considered proper english in the UK), I thought "only people in the US to use the word earnt in place of earned would be uneducated hillbillies." No offense to hillbillies, but they (the uneducated ones) don't have computers anyhow. Which reminds me of the time our church went on a missions trip to help a man in Appalachia. Bless his heart, he doesn't even have indoor plumbing. We put new windows in his house and built (not unlike earnt) him a new outhouse. I've heard the English language is the hardest to learn, and with two versions, how confusing.
I think some posters were worried because people in the U.S. would not use the British spelling of keywords when searching, so their listings would not show up. For example," jewellery" is spelled "jewelry" here. I thought it was a valid question, but even if it weren't, why be irritated by it? I hope these forums continue to be friendly, and that people won't feel too intimidated to ask if they have a concern.
Attention Mark or Gazza. I recently added some laptop computers over the last couple of days. When I try a laptop search in computer category, they do not show. They are listed in my store though. I'd like to get more exposure on them. Is there a problem or have I done something wrong? Thanks Mike (canuckbid)
Your title needs to contain the words a buyer would use to search.
Search searches the title of the item only, not the category the item is in.
As you don't have the word laptop in the title, a search for laptop won't show them.
If you have used the word in your description & you tick the search description box, it will find them then, if you haven't used it search cannot find it.
