E.C. (Ernest Cousins) Baker served as an officer with the London Rifles during the first world war and was entitled to the Mons Star. He gained his commission from the ranks in 1915.
He enrolled into the Shanghai Municipal Police in 1926 and served with them until 1942.
The item bears a full set of 1917 (b) sterling silver London hallmarks along with a manufacturer mark of "GH" for "Harrison Brothers."
The item is in a good general condition, some pin head indents and a dent to the underside of the rim at the one o'clock position.
