These are natural, mined stones. They HAVE been heat treated to help bring out the star, but the result is, they have a really good clean star. I'm really pleased with the results, and will be offering this stone in several of our nicer rings. In plain English, this is simply a very pretty stone, and it's well mounted in this Sterling Silver ring. Gives me goosebumps just to look at it. This ring just looks great! This ring sits nicely on the finger, heavy filigree, center stone displayed well. This is a seriously solid ring. _________________________________________________________________________ BTW, Since we make this from scratch after you order it, we have a lot of flexibility. We can also cast this in yellow, white or rose gold, and in any of 10k, 14k, or 18k.
