Seller's Description

Original British 27 inch x 40 inch 1-Sheet Poster for the 1987 Jack Clayton Drama THE LONELY PASSION OF JUDITH HEARNE, based on the novel by Brian Moore and starring Maggie Smith, Bob Hoskins, Wendy Hiller, Marie Kean and Ian McNeice.

A middle-aged spinster falls in love with a fellow resident of her boardinghouse, who mistakenly believes she has the money to help him start a new business.

Poster design by Richard Bird (1948 - 1993). Born in Kenya in 1948 Bird studied at the Brighton College of Art in 1968 and in the mid-1980s he set up his own consultancy, taking on a wide variety of work for film and theatre. Among the posters he produced for the cinema were Jack Clayton's The Passion of Judith Hearne, John Schlesinger's The Falcon and the Snowman and Charles Sturridge's A Handful of Dust.

The poster is in very good condition. The poster was once folded but has been stored flat for several years and will therefore be shipped rolled.
