Seller's Description

Original 1944 British 11 inch x 17 inch Trade Advertisement for the 1943 Henry King Drama THE SONG OF BERNADETTE, based on a novel by Franz Werfel and starring Jennifer Jones as Bernadette Soubirous, the young visionary of Lourdes, Charles Bickford, Vincent Price, Lee J. Cobb and Gladys Cooper.

A young girl claims to have seen a divine vision, which prompts both a religious phenomenon and extreme scepticism.

Advert art by Norman Rockwell (1894 - 1978). An American painter and illustrator. His works have a broad popular appeal in the United States for their reflection of American culture. Rockwell designed six film posters during his career: “The Magnificent Ambersons” (1942), “The Song of Bernadette” (1943), “Along Came Jones” (1945), “The Razor's Edge” (1946), “Cinderfella” (1960) and “Stagecoach” (1966).

The Advertisement is in very good condition with one horizontal centre fold and 4 tiny holes along it with minor brown marks.
