PROCTO-GLIVENOL 2.12% / 5% Rectal cream is used for topical treatment of external and internal hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are swellings of the veins in the rectum or anus that cause pain, stinging and itching.
How PROCTO-GLIVENOL works 2.12% / 5% Rectal cream
The active substances in the composition of the medicinal product have their therapeutic effect as follows:
The first active ingredient tribenoside acts locally on the causes of inflammation in the small blood vessels.
The second active ingredient, lidocaine hydrochloride, is a local anesthetic that immediately relieves the pain, itching and burning caused by hemorrhoids.
If after a week you do not feel well or your condition worsens, you should seek medical attention.

Do not use PROCTO-GLIVENOL 2.12% / 5% Rectal Cream

Cetyl alcohol, which may cause local skin reactions (eg contact dermatitis).
Methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate - may cause allergic reactions (delayed type).
3. How to use PROCTO-GLIVENOL 2.12% / 5% Rectal cream
Always use PROCTO-GLIVENOL 2.12% / 5% Rectal Cream exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist have told you. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Method of application
1. Clean the affected area with a suitable cloth or napkin.
2. Dry gently with a paper or soft towel before applying the cream.
3. After removing the cap and protective film (if any), screw the dosing applicator onto the tube.
4. Remove the applicator cap.
5. For internal use in the lower part of the anal canal, gently insert the dosing applicator a little deeper into the anus and gently squeeze the tube to allow the cream to enter the anus.
6. For external use, apply the cream around the anus with a clean finger.
7. Apply the cream topically up to twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening.
8. After each use, using a damp paper or cotton cloth, wipe off the remaining cream on the applicator, then place the cap on it.
9. After using the cream, wash your hands with soap and water.
Discard the applicator 14 days after first use. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required.
The recommended dose is:
When symptoms are acute:
Apply 1 application of cream twice a day (morning and evening).
When symptoms subside:
Use 1 application of cream once a day.
Do not exceed the recommended dose. Avoid any eye contact.
Do not swallow PROCTO-GLIVENOL 2.12% / 5% Rectal Cream.
Duration of treatment
Use PROCTO-GLIVENOL 2.12% / 5% Rectal Cream until complete disappearance of symptoms.
If symptoms persist for more than a week, consult your doctor.
