Seller's Description

Original French 47 inch x 63 inch Poster for the 1969 Gene Saks Comedy CACTUS FLOWER, based on the stage play by Abe Burrows and starring Ingrid Bergman, Walter Matthau, Goldie Hawn, Jack Weston, Rick Lenz, Vito Scotti and Irene Hervey.

Bergman plays an introverted dentist’s receptionist who blossoms like a cactus flower when she finds she’s in love with her boss Matthau. But the charming Hawn (aged 24) surprisingly out-acts them both, and won an Oscar in her second movie.

Poster art by Jean Mascii. Mascii was one of the most prolific French film poster artists of the second half of the 20th century creating over 2,000. He was born in Italy in 1926 his family then settled in France in 1932. He began work designing cinema facades and designed his first film poster for La Dame D'Onze Heures starring Paul Meurisse in 1947. He died in Paris in 2003.

The poster is in very good folded condition with a one inch slit at the back of Hawn’s head.
