Seller's Description

Original British 11 inch x 17 inch Trade Advertisement from Kinematograph Weekly for the 1947 Basil Dearden Ealing Studios Drama FRIEDA starring Mai Zetterling, David Farrar, Flora Robson, Glynis Johns, Albert Lieven, Barbara Everest, Gladys Henson, Ray Jackson, Gerard Heinz and Arthur Howard.

Anti-German prejudice nearly scuppers the new marriage of a returned Prisoner of War who brings home the girl who helped him to escape. A fervent Nazi brother-in-law does not help, and the husband is too ready to believe the worst in his wife. For all that, it faces squarely the problem of post-war relations.

Advert art by S John Woods. S John Woods worked for Fox in the 1930s, designed posters for the Old Vic, Covent Garden and Sadlers Wells before joining Ealing Studios’ advertising department in 1943 employing well known artists to design their posters.

The Advertisement is in very good condition with one vertical centre fold with 4 staple holes along it.
