• Epoch: probably Sep 1970 if the “9/70” number on the bottom right refers to month and year?
• The term “GSGS Misc” refers to Geographical Section General Staff used from Mar 1943 to Jun 1975
• The Geographical Section General Staff was known as “MI 4” during World War II, but transformed into producing maps for the armed forces and government after this. The map possibly was used to help study short wave radio propagation, but could also be used to work out missile strike times on London during the Cold War. Alas I cannot find any documentation about this particular map, though plenty of other maps from GCSC have been documented on-line. Amateur Radio Hams may like this map for plotting the positions of overseas stations they have detected.
