H. Bequet quaregnon Cigarette Box & Set of Ashtrays Circa 1940's. This item has been repaired at some time in the past, but you have to look closely to find that. In over all excellent condition for being approx. 80 years old.

In 1926, the young Hubert Bequet began his career at the Faience of Wasmuël. In 1934, he created his own pottery factory in Quaregnon. Faïencerie Bequet Hubert was a rapid development to meet in 1963, the peak of his success with the occupation of more than a hundred and fifty workers
The pottery and its director then begin to experience various problems. Finally, the Artistic Ceramics Hubert Bequet closed in December 82. But Hubert Bequet continued producing earthenware in a small workshop "Earthenware Borinage" until April 85.
Faïencerie Bequet Hubert was one of the few Belgian ceramic factories to successfully combine creativity and earthenware mass production.
