• Condition: Aging present as paper has an orange tinge to parts of it. Some creases present – see image – however these will flatten out if mounted behind a glass frame. The date of the newspaper story is hand written at the top of the article. See images for full condition.
• Comments: This newspaper  story is about an attempt by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History and also the National Museum of health, to get the presumed body of Abraham Lincoln’s assassin, exhumed for DNA testing. This was to check out, or lay to rest, a theory that John Wilkes Booth did not die in a shoot out at a barn in Bowling Green, VA, but instead it was somebody else and Booth lived under an assumed name in Granbury, TX, until 1903. Although this theory has probably been discredited now, if you are interested in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, then you might appreciate this newspaper clipping. The Daily Telegraphy is a British newspaper that some regard as a conservative paper, but is noted for being quite factual and detailed in its stories. On the reverse side of the clipping are stories about the French president, the Arab Israel dispute, the Pope and the Czech republic, Zimbabwe, and Stork’s nest in Madrid, Spain!
