This wonderful item is now MEGA RARE, as these were a limited run
and are no longer made. Made by the same firm that makes the official London Underground signs on the stations.
ALDWYCH STATION history: A terminal station on a shuttle spur on the Piccadilly line. Accesible via street level or at the other end at Holborn station.
Opened in 1907 and closed in 1993, this was opened for the anticipated use by theatre patrons. Ultimatley closed in September 1993 when the cost of the the lift replacement proved too costly, when the footfall at the station didn't justify it.
Now a closed and disused station, used for filming and occasional tours. A time capsule.
This is a heavy enamel metal plate and shows the old style font with the L.U diamonds
on the name that runs through the blue part of the roundel.
The same size as a drinks coaster 4" x 4" approx and fully protected from weathering and water damage. Suitable for outdoor use.
Sturdy, solid and heavy.
2 holes in the plate made for hanging purposes.
First,SECOND & Last pictures for info only. Not included.
10/10 condition.
