Seller's Description

Original British 30 inch x 40 inch Quad Poster for the 1958 Jerry Hopper Drama THE MISSOURI TRAVELER, based on the novel by John Burress and starring Brandon De Wilde, Lee Marvin, Gary Merrill, Paul Ford and Mary Hosford.

During the early 1900s, a runaway Missouri orphan reaches a town where the townsfolk are enchanted with him and where a wealthy rancher and a local newspaperman compete to give him an education.

The poster artwork is by A. “Jock” W. Hinchliffe.
Hinchliffe was born in Perth, Scotland. In 1953 he had a studio in Chalk Farm, North London, where he produced a series of six oil paintings as publicity for 20th Century Fox’s “The Robe”. He had been engaged by Fox in 1926 and produced posters and ads continuously for them, and for Disney, well into the 1960s.

Printed by Display Productions, London

The poster is in very good folded condition with corner pinholes, a tiny hole bottom centre and minor separation at the cross folds.
