Original U.S. 22 inch x 28 inch Half Sheet Poster for the 1955 Peter Glenville Drama THE PRISONER, based on the play by Bridget Boland and starring Alec Guinness, Jack Hawkins, Wilfrid Lawson, Kenneth Griffith, Jeanette Sterke, Ronald Lewis, Raymond Huntley, Mark Dignam and Gerard Heinz.
Hawkins relentlessly interrogates jailed cardinal Guinness to force him to confess to treason in this taut drama, based on the 1949 case of Cardinal Mindszenty in Hungary.
The poster is in good to very good unfolded (rolled) condition with a couple of stains top left, a pencil line at Guinness’s chin, minor creasing and other minor faults.
