Seller's Description

These are my XPS foam bricks, handmade for building buildings, terrain for your wargames, be they role playing games or tabletop battles.

The bricks are 10mm x 10mm x 20mm (approx.)

The bricks are supplied un-weathered so you can get straight down to using them in your terrain, or if you want, you can weather them yourself. To do this simply add the bricks into a container(like a large coffee tin) with some pebbles and with the top firmly on, give them a good shake for five or so minutes. This will smooth the edges out and also add some more realistic dents and dappling to the bricks. If you want more, repeat the method for another five minutes.

If you want to add more texture, when the bricks are glued down you can use a ball of tightly rolled tin foil and then firmly roll this over the surfaces, this will give even more texture.

To glue the bricks, hot glue can be used, but it can leave ‘glue strings’ and also, if it gets too hot it can melt the bricks themselves.
I’d recommend using a tacky glue or even just PVA, the tacky glue will aid in keeping the bricks together and set faster, but normal PVA will do the trick, it may just take a little longer.

To seal the bricks, you can either go straight to a brush-on primer or an airbrush primer, but be careful with any aerosols. They may have a detrimental effect on the XPS. If you want to use an aerosol, ensure the bricks are coated in either a watered down PVA or Mod Podge (this also gives the bricks more durability). Always test on a small hidden section first.

There are some examples of my builds in the listing which show what can be made with the bricks With just a little imagination, so see where your imagination takes you. (The models are not part of the listing, they are only examples, the listing is purely for the XPS bricks)

Note: Colour of foam may vary dependent on available supplies. All quantities approximate.
