This cultivar features globe-shaped beets that are dark red in color. The roots are sweet and the attractive red-tinged tops are flavorful and nutritious. Detroit Dark Red take 60 days to reach maturity. This cultivar is heat tolerant and disease resistant. The seeds germinate in approximately 14 days with an average soil temperature of 72°F.
