Seller's Description
This mint condition print, card #9DK-962 is a Christian Brothers distribution. The reverse tells us:
"San Miguel is the oldest church in the United States dating from 1610 when Santa Fe was founded. This reredos or altar backdrop was built at the request of Don Jose Antonio Ortiz in 1798." (with some assistance from Manuel Labor) "Restoration in 1955 included the cleaning of the oil paintings that were certainly in the Oldest Church before 1776. The wood carvings are Old Spanish and Spanish Colonial."
