Vellum Cut-Outs were created because customers asked for them! Scrapbookers loved our acid-free, lignin-free Paper Pizazz Vellum Papers, Colored Vellum and Painted Vellum books so much that we added these cut-out embellishments to our vellum collection. When cutting out the image, leave the shadow around it to add depth to the piece. Cut close to the image or leave a narrow mat-it's your choice! Place a vellum cut-out over red paper, then blue or green-you'll get a different look with every background paper. These decorative shapes are fun to use with scrapbook pages, cards, stationery, invitations, gift tags and lots of other crafts.
A few helpful hints for working with vellum cut-outs:
• Handle the pieces with care, as creases will leave permanent white lines.
• To help avoid glue showing through the vellum, apply glue to the background paper rather than the cut-out, and only around the edges. A glue stick or glue pen works best.
• Scotch acid-free double stick tape works well with vellum and is an excellent alternative to glue.
Basic supplies:
scissors: straight-edged and pattern-edged
acid-free and PVC-free sheet protectors
acid-free black permanent pen
templates
acid-free adhesive
Scrapbooking Basics:
1 Sort your photos by date, then by theme. Begin with your most recent photos and work back in time. Three sample album pages are shown in this book.
2 Cut your photos to keep only the most important parts-this is called cropping. It's best to keep the scissors in one position and move the photo or paper.
3 Select your papers. Paper Pizazz sheets come in theme books or are sold individually by the sheet. Patterned paper can be a great background with other sheets for mats. Glue a cropped photo to the mat paper and cut a 1/8" X 1/2" border. Double-mat for variety.
4 Arrange your photos on the back-ground paper. Select cut-outs to fill empty spaces or to journal with. Glue the pieces in place.
5 Write (or journal) the story represented by your photos. Slip the finished page into a sheet protector and into a three-ring binder album.
