Bulgin SA1861 3 pin, 5 amp mains socket. Used as power connector for valve amps, recorders, juke boxes and many other electronic equipment by quad, leak, lowther, tannoy, marshall, ferrograph, hiwatt, radford from the 1950's to the late 1980's.
Listed as a socket but it has plug type pins and often refered to as a chassis plug. Mates with Bulgin SA1862 trailing plug with solid sockets. Screw terminals for wire connection. Made of bakelite and getting very hard to find these days. Flange is 40 mm diameter, 26.8mm diameter behind flange, 29mm deep behind panel.
This has broken bakelite near one fixing but still quite useable - see photos.
