An early to mid-1940s Columbia recording from Horace Heidt and His Musical Knights with vocals.
From 1937 until 1945, Horace Heidt and his orchestra enjoyed more than 50 hit records, and were virtually permanent fixtures on the radio. Offered here is an exceptionally clean and beautiful sounding pair of Big Band dance rhythms. Gently played with minor scuffs and a few light scratches. Clear and pleasing sound. We grade condition as excellent.
Side HCO 1139 presents, "I Promise You", with vocal by Bob Matthews, Swingmasters, and Glee Club from the 1944 film, "Here Come The Waves". Side HCO 1140 plays, "Don't Fence Me In", with vocal by Gene Walsh, et.al. This tune is featured in the 1944 film, "Hollywood Canteen".
