Seller's Description
1925 was the year Columbia switched from the old method of acoustically recorded pressings to the new electric recording process licensed from Western Electric. This company has a long history, dating back to 1888, and was one of the "Big Three" in recording companies, competing with Edison and Victor. They remain the oldest continually used brand name in recorded sound, now owned by Sony Music since 1988.
Offered here is a pair of jazz dance rhythms. Record #A2747. Moderate scuffs and scratches present some background noise, but pretty good audio, overall. A 2-inch hairline on the B side is beginning to show but presents no problems.
Side 78381 features the Happy Six with, "Mammy's Lullaby", a waltz tempo.
Side 78402 offers, "The Red Lantern", a medley fox trot performed by The Waldorf-Astoria Dance Orchestra.
