A monumental year for Claiborne Farm; having bred and raced so many champions, they had yet to win a Kentucky Derby with a horse of their own until this year with the sensational SWALE - a son of the great SEATTLE SLEW trained by Hall-of-Famer Woody Stephens. In the Preakness, SWALE couldn't get a hold of the track and would wind up unplaced as GATE DANCER danced to victory at Baltimore. In the Belmont, SWALE would regain his winning ways demolishing the field by an ever increasing margin. The glory would sadly be short-lived as SWALE tragically collapse and died while being bathed shortly after a routine gallop only eight days after winning the Belmont...truly a heart-wrenching ordeal!

In addition, GENUINE RISK is shown in foal to THE MINSTREL at her owner and breeders' Catoctin Farm in Waterford, Virginia, four years after her own Kentucky Derby win.

Also included is a segment on Claiborne Farm and how they've never bred a horse of their own that has won the Kentucky Derby - that is until SWALE came along.
