This listing is for (1x) seed pack containing .250 grams (approximately 2700 seeds) Artemisia frigida (Fringed Sagebrush) seeds.Artemisia frigida is a perennial with a woody base that is native to Asia, Europe, and North America. The plant has silver-white foliage and once mature it will produce clusters of tiny yellow flowers during the summer months. Artemisia frigida reaches a height of approximately 1.5 feet. This species prefers dry conditions. Artemisia frigida has been given an Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society. It is commonly called Fringed Sagebrush, Prairie Sagewort, Arctic Sage, and Pasture Sage.
Fringed Sagebrush has been used by several Native American groups. The Blackfoot used it medicinally for coughs, colds, wounds, and heartburn. The Cree people used it to treat headaches and fevers. The Tewa people took it for indigestion and gastritis. Today Artemisia frigida is commonly used in landscapes in areas with drought conditions and for erosion control.
