Seller's Description
Lot of 90 (Ninety) 22 kt Authorized Gold Replicas of United States Stamps plus First Day of Issue postage stamps and Keepsake Album This is a very large lot of items as follows: Each thin plastic holder measures about 8 inches by five inches and holds a set of three envelopes, measuring about 7.5 by 4 inches and three "identification" cards with the same measurements. Each envelope contains a gold replica stamp, a hand canceled First Day of Issue Stamp postmarked from the First Day City and is accompanied by an Information Card. The sealed envelopes are ivory colored heavy laid stock with an embossed gold foil eagle on the top left corner. Beneath the gold eagle is a gold foil bordered square cut out about 2.5 by 2.5 inches with the title of the stamp below the border in black script. The gold stamp is covered by a plastic holder which is set into a flocked dark maroon velvet background. The postage stamp on which the gold replica is based is on the top right corner of the envelope. It is hand cancelled with FIRST DAY OF ISSUE clearly visible beneath the stamp. The post mark is to the left of the stamp. Many of the envelopes have a printed address of the original owner (we've obscured the address in our photographs.) All of the envelopes are sealed. None of these envelopes were directly mailed and are in excellent condition. On the back flap of the envelope is a brief statement: "The authorized gold stamp replica preserved in this cover is produced under a non-exclusive licensing agreement with the United States Postal Service. Stamp design (copyright) U.S. Postal Service. Cover Design (copyright) Commemorative Society." Replica stamps may be horizontal or vertical and of different sizes as are the original accompanying postage stamps. Each stamp is also accompanied by an "information card" which identifies the First Day of Issue, First Day City, Stamp Designer and the history behind the stamp creation. The information cards are on heavy laid stock with plain embossed borders. They are in a variety of colors and the text is also in a variety of colors. From text: "Exact Replicas on a Gleaming Surface of Gold." "For each important new U.S. stamp, skilled craftsmen hand inscribe every detail in deep-relief upon a die. This die is then used to strike each replica on thin sheets of paper-backed 22kt gold foil. The result is a masterpiece that precisely parallels the original while surpassing it in splendor!" "Each 22kt Gold Stamp Replica becomes part of an Official First Day Cover - postmarked by U.S. Postal Authorities with the Official First Day Of Issue Postmark. This cancellation certifies that each gold Stamp Replica is a limited edition that can never again be issued." There are 27 plastic trays and one single envelope and card. Also included are several pieces of ephemera related to the collection, including an advertising flyer detailing the collections. The First Issue and Gold Stamp Replica Envelopes are as follows: they are grouped as they were packaged in the trays, not in alphabetical or other order STAMP NAME: DATE OF ISSUE ISSUE CITY
Also included is a large 13.5 x 10 inch brown pleather binder with bright gilt titles and decorations on spine and cover. It expands to about 5 inches in width. The binder is filled with vinyl pockets into which the envelopes can be inserted. The front page of the binder has a personalized certificate of membership. The last page of the binder has a decorative poster of stamps. All pages are vinyl. Both the binder and many of the envelopes have been personalized with the name of the original owner.

QUESTIONS? Please ask any questions prior to your purchase. We do not accept Offers. We do not respond to offers made. The price is what it is. We’d love it if you would pay more, because we need a bookmobile, but we won’t take less.
IS THERE SOMETHING YOU WANT TO TELL US? Have we misspelled something? Please let us know. Is a photograph missing? Please let us know. Do you have information you think we should add to our listing? Do you want to share some information about a relative who signed a book we have on offer or a recipe we highlighted or a historical note? We appreciate your interest and we’d love to hear from you.
SHIPPING AND HANDLING: Every item has calculated shipping. Please choose your preferred method. Shipping includes USPS tracking where available. All shipments are subject to US Postal Service regulations. When we ship the item, you will receive a message with shipping information and USPS Tracking Number (where applicable.) Please visit www.usps.com to check the tracking of your package for shipments within the United States. End to end tracking is not available for most shipments outside the United States. GIFTS: Please let us know if you’re sending a gift, because we will be including a receipt with the price of the item. You may not want us to include the receipt. We’re happy to include our gift card (at no cost) or your note or message (also at no cost.) We will not send anonymous gifts.
PAYMENT: Payment must be made in US funds and by PayPal.
CONTACTING YOU AFTER YOUR PURCHASE: Occasionally, we have questions after your purchase. Sometimes we need to confirm a shipping address. If we have questions, we will contact you through ebid’s messaging system. Please check your ebid Messages and your email or shipment of your item may be delayed. It is possible that your purchase may be cancelled if we don’t hear back from you.
BUYERS LOCATED OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES - PLEASE NOTE: Receipt of your item may be delayed if it has to go through custom inspection in your country. Occasionally, this adds days or weeks to delivery. Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to buying. Customs fees are normally charged by the shipping company or collected when you pick the item up. These fees are not additional shipping charges. We won't under-value merchandise or mark the item as a gift on customs forms. Doing that is against U.S. and international laws. During peak shipping times, it may take weeks to have your item clear customs. We’ve had some items arrive in Europe in a week, but a package to South America once took six weeks to arrive! Again, you’ll have to check with the customs office in your country if your item hasn’t been received. Restrictions in your country may not allow us to ship certain items. Many countries do not allow shipments of coins or precious metals, for example. Some media, including computer software, music CDs or DVDs may be restricted for sale outside the United States. VHS and DVDs are formatted differently for different countries. If you are purchasing a VHS videotape, please note the format your machine requires before you make your purchase. Most of our tapes are NTSC format (it is specified in the listing what the format is) which will not work in most video players in Europe and Australia. We routinely contact anyone overseas who purchases a VHS video to ask them to check if their machine can play an NTSC tape before we ship. Many DVDs also have a specific format by country. If you are purchasing a DVD, please make sure the DVD is a format that will play in your machine.
NO RETURN, NO CANCELLATION POLICY: We no longer accept returns or cancellations due a history of fraudulent claims. OUR TEXT, IMAGES AND OUR COPYRIGHT: Our photographs and text, including titles and subtitles, are copyrighted and may not be used, copied or redistributed. Quotes are for illustrative purposes only and remain the property of their respective copyright holders. Civil and criminal penalties apply to the theft of copyrighted material. If you see our photographs or text elsewhere on eBid or online, please let us know. We’ve found our “stolen” photographs and text on other e-commerce websites many times. In order to help reduce fraud and image theft, you’ll notice that most of our photographs have our logo or other label appearing on each image which obscures a small part of the item. It is possible that anyone who uses stolen images or text may not even have the item they are trying to sell and that their intention is to defraud you. We don’t want anyone to use our images or text to try and sell you something they don’t have. Please be savvy and safe while shopping online. Your local public library should be able to help you find great resources to protect yourself and your family while shopping online.
Thank you for reading this. You are the kind of educated consumer with whom we want to do business and whom we aim very hard to please.
