Seller's Description

This is a postcard captioned as "Lifeguardsman on duty at Whitehall, London".  However, as he has a dark plume on his helmet, rather than the white of The Life Guards, he is probably a soldier of The Blues & Royals, who wore red plumes (unless the card dates before their amalgamation with The Royal Dragoons in 1969, in which he would be from The Royal Horse Guards).     The guard post is also generally described as Horse Guards, rather than Whitehall.

The postcard is in fair condition with minor wear to the corners and edges.
