Robinson Plume Agate Unpolished Slab: Pretty Black Plumes in Translucent Agate

Robinson Plume Agate was briefly dug during the 1970s on the old Robinson Ranch outside of Prineville, Oregon. It was popular for its feathery black plumes in translucent bluish-white to golden agate. The plumes formed in stalactite formations as well as in angelwing seams. The deposit was closed to digging many years ago, and what occasionally comes onto the market is from old dealer stocks. This piece could be used as a specimen (I have a similar piece in my own collection), or to cut multiple cabochon gemstones.

The photo which includes the measure/ruler was taken dry, the material in the other pictures was dampened to better approximate how the color might intensify when polished. I made photos in direct sunlight.
