The Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield^[1] ( pronunciation (help·info)) is a town that forms an affluent middle class suburb in the city of Birmingham.^[2] in the West Midlands of England. It lies about 8 miles (13 km) northeast of Birmingham City Centre and borders Erdington, Streetly, North Warwickshire, Lichfield, Tamworth, Kingstanding and Castle Vale. The 2011 Census revealed a population of 95,107 a fall of -4.8% since the 2001 Census.

Historically in Warwickshire, it became part of Birmingham and the West Midlands in 1974.
