Tsavorite Garnet: Carved Round in Grassy Green; 4.8 mm; 0.5 cts; Kenya

This is an interesting piece: a cabochon with a carved, rather than domed, top. The stone has a veil that the carving helps hide. It is a pretty green and an affordable example of this desirable green grossular garnet variety. Garnet is the traditional birthstone for people born during the month of January.
