Seller's Description
W. & S. Blackinton was formed in 1868, by William, Samuel and Lewis Blackinton, and in 1869, Horton, Angell & Company, came into being, the first local concern to pay its employees weekly. The corporation is now known as Horton-Angell Co.
This turn-of-the-century example of their craftsmanship is 1 1/8 inches in diameter. Small sapphire stones mounted on ornate gold (12K?) filigree facing. First 3 sapphire stones are missing. The man shown is John Eugene Goehring of Springfield, Ohio in about 1910. The lady is his first wife, Miss Minnie Koester of Piqua, Ohio. Hinge works well and is operating smoothly. Closes tightly. Gorgeous design work! Have a gander at the close-ups.
