Blue and white dinner plate with a design of Moreton Old Hall in Cheshire with cattle drinking from a stream and a border of elderberries. Marked on the base 'Moreton Old Hall Cheshire a.d.1540. Tradition says that Queen Elizabeth visited Morton with the Earls of Leicester & Essex. Bishop Moreton, Shakespeare's Lord of Ely lived here. Wedgwood Queen's Ware Microwave, dishwasher & freezer safe. Romantic England. Made in England c. Wedgwood'. In good condition, no chips or cracks. Width 27.5cms.
