WW2 German Deutsche Reichspost Postsparbuch- Postal Savings Book

Deutsche Reichspost savings account book is a red Postal Savings Bank as well as instructions.  The account book and red Ausweiskarte card had to be presented together by the account owner to make a deposit or withdrawal from an account. The numbers on the front of the savings book and red card had to match.  The backside of the Ausweiskarte was blank.

For withdrawals up to RM 100, yellow Rückzahlungsscheine (repayment slips) were required.  For withdrawals in excess of RM 100, orange Kündigungsscheine were needed.   Every book and card combination came with a supply of orange and yellow withdrawal slips bearing the same account number as the card and book.  All transactions were entered into the pass book by date and amount, signed for by a postal clerk, and stamped using the same date stamp that the post office used to cancel postage stamps on letters.

A convenient aspect of the system was that one could get money from or pay money into an account in any post office in Germany.
